ReplyDeleteIn the beginning of scene 7, Stella is decorating for Blanche's birthday. Stanley tells Stella about all the stuff that he heard about Blanche, but Stella doesn't fully believe what he is saying. Stanley's birthday gift to Blanch is a bus ticket because he doesn't want her there anymore. While Stanley was telling Stella about Blanche, Blanche was bathing. In scene 8, it is still Blanche's birthday party. Blanche asks Stanley to tell a joke, but he does not , so Blanche tells one. Mitch never came to the dinner and Stanley gets mad at Stella because she told him he had greasy fingers. In scene 9, Mitch arrives and he talks to Blanche about how he doesn't mind that Blanche is older than him but he was mad that Blanche lied to him all along. In scene 10, Blanche knows that Stanley knows that she is a liar. The conversation turns into an argument and it can be interpreted that Stanley rapes Blanche.
Much happens within scenes seven through ten. To start it off, a sort of surprise party occurred for Blanche as Stella decorated the house as Blanche was bathing. Stanley arrives home and talks to Stella about Blanche and her past. He basically tells Stella she is a liar and the truth is she had got fired from her job because she was involved with a minor. Soon they all celebrate without Mitch showing up and Blanche receives her gift from Stanley. It was a ticket back to her town, she was upset and ran off. Mitch and Blanche have a talk and she offers to drink. Mitch also wanted to see Blanche in the light not caring about her age, but she cries. Thing began to stir up and Blanche forced Mitch to leave. At last Stanley comes home tipsy, and talks to Blanche for a bit. Things became awkward for her and she tries to defend herself with a broken end of a bottle. She becomes unconscious and thrown on the bed by Stanley. It should be assumed that she had been raped by him. yolo.
