  1. In the first three chapters of "To Kill A Mockingbird", we meet the following characters: Scout (the narrator), Jem, Atticus, Dill, Boo Radley, Calpurnia, Mr. Radley and Nathan Radley. Scout is a young girl and the narrator of the story. She's intelligent and can already read by the age of six. Jem is Scout's older brother, by four years, and he really likes football. Atticus is the father of both Scout and Jem, the relative of Simon Finch (which makes him very popular and related to almost every in Maycomb), and a lawyer. Dill is a boy, one year older than Scout, that Jem and his sister meet when they are younger. He's also very intelligent, very small and has snow white hair that sits on his head like duckfluff. Boo is a middle-aged man that never comes out of his home. He used to live with his father in the Radley house, but then he died and Boo's brother, Nathan, took his place. Nathan is compared to his father by Scout, in which he is a very mean and distasteful man.

Scouts brother, Jem, loves to read and is very nice to people like the Cunningham's and takes care of Scout by playing with her and walking her to school on the first day. She takes care of them by cooking them dinner and telling them whats right from wrong. Dill is Scout and Jem's friend who lives next door in the summer. Dill is very into movies, reading, and trying to get Boo out of his house. Miss. Caroline is a new school teacher from Alabama and teaches Scout. The Cunningham's are a less fortunate family but are very respectable and never take what they cannot payback. Lastly, the Ewell's are a disgrace to the town of Maycomb because they do not do work, the break laws, they are very mean, and they act like they are animals. 29. IN the first three chapters of To Kill A Mockingbird we meet only four main characters; Those characters are Scout ( the narrator, Jem, Atticus, and Dill. Scout is an outgoing little girl, we only know that she is in first grade and she can read. Jem is Scout's older brother; He is in fifth grade. Atticus is their father; He is a defense attorney. Dill is Jem and Scout's friend. They meet over the summer. The other characters we meet are, Boo Radley, Calpurnia, Walter Cunningham, Alexander Finch, Mr. and Mrs. Radley, and Miss Caroline. Though all of these characters have importance in the book only the main characters personalities and reaction matter to the larger meaning of the story.

  30. In the first chapters of "To Kill A Mockingbird" Scout (the narrator), Jem, Atticus, Dill, Boo Radley, the Cumminghams, and the Ewells. All of these characters relate to the main character and influence him. Jem is Scouts best friend and brother. Dill is a boy who comes to the town for the summer and reads to Scout and Jem. The Ewells we find are a "primitive" group of people who are not like in the town of Maycomb. Atticus is the father of the main character Scout. He teaches them many lessons on life and how to be a better person as well. Boo Radley is a mentally handicap man. The Cummingham family are one of the poorest and we find that they do not take what they can not pay back. These are many of the new and interesting characters in the first three chapters of "To Kill A Mockingbird."
