What did you think of the resolution of To Kill a Mockingbird? What did you like about it? What did you not like about it? What would you have changed?
I did not like the ending i feel boo radley should have played a bigger part, in the story since the begining was built around him. scond to go back the jury convicting tom robinson beign convicted just puts a damp feeling on the whole case which was the whole point of the story
I think it was a great book with many messages. It showed that even if you think you know someone very well, if may turn out that you don't. Boo Radley was a character for example that no one knew much about. He ended up being a kind man who helped Scout in the end. He only lacking quality was that he was shy. I like about the story the most was when boo radelly came back.
I think that To Kill a Mockingbird was a good book. The story had many issues that were around during the time period, which made me feel like I was in the 1930s. What I didn't like was the small role Boo Radley played in the story. In the beginning it seems like the story will be about figuring out who he is and how he acts. Once the trial comes along the kids just stop talking about Boo. The story ends pretty abruptly also. I thought the ending would have been better than Atticus reading to Scout. If I could change the story, I would give Boo more of a role and change the ending in some way. -Jeff Ayares ;) <3
I liked the ending of To Kill a Mockingbird. It was a good way to end the story it didn't go in to much detail and loss touch with the story line. I liked the way she brought Boo Radley into the story. She didn't make to much of a big deal out of it. I would have change how we didn't get to hear from Jem his side of the story on how the attack happened. I would have let him tell his side of the story.
I think that the Story "To Kill A Mockingbird" was good. I liked the twist at the end. It really caught you by surprise, and I never thought that Boo Radley would come back into the story at all. However, I did not like how it ended all of a sudden. It just cut off. If I could change something about the story, I would have given it a better ending.
I loved TKAM. I can't count how many times I've read this book and it gets better each time. I have always thought that the ending was a bit sudden. I always get annoyed after the part where Tom dies. I think the author could have done a lot with his appeal. My only other complaint is that Boo Radley's part at the end was brief. I wish we would have seen more of him at the end of the novel. Lisa Williams :)
I did not like TKAM honestly. I prefer not to read it, and I would not tell my friends about it, let alone suggest reading it. The only character I actually liked was Atticus, and he was a push-over the entire time. I wouldn't change the book at all, just because I don't like, doesn't mean other people do not.
The object or theme of "To Kill a Mockingbird" are seeing another person's viewpoint, racial issues, courage, the signs of good and evil and the importance of education. I think that the book, To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, was a great book with many messages. It showed that even if you think you know someone very well, if may turn out that you don't. Boo Radley was a character for example that no one knew much about. He ended up being a kind man who helped Scout in the end. His only lacking quality was that he was shy. I thought the book was wonderful and it helped me show how to treat my friends, don’t judge a book by its cover, and see another person's point of view. I wish I could change that Tom Robinson got killed because he was innocent; he was the potential mockingbird of the story. But other than that I really enjoyed it! -Cindi Strong
I thought that the ending was decent. I personally think it could have been better but overall it was a good book. What I liked about it was that it was told from a child’s perspective and always had you wondering what would happen next. Also, what I liked about it was that you could understand the book by reading it and not needing someone to explain it to you. What I didn’t like about it was that Tom Robinson was guilty and that he died. I didn’t like how the ending was so dull and not ending on a good note. Having Boo Radley finally appearing was a good thing to involve but ending it with Jems arm being broken was not. Like is he allowed to play football? Will he be okay? Does the town really believe Bob Ewell fell on his knife? The only thing I would have changed would be the ending. Jordan Brank <3 MOMMI
I thought that the end of To Kill A Mockingbird was really good, but there are some things that I would change. First, I thought that the story would be about Boo Radley because in the beginning he is the main focus, but when the trials pick up, the Boo Radley situation is pushed aside. The ending was good though, bob ewell tries to kill the children because of Atticus and Boo saves the two children, the ending is my favorite part of the story. Bomba
To Kill A Mockingbird was an interesting book. I thought it was wrong how small a role Boo Radley played. In the beginning, it was all about finding out about Boo Radley, but then later it just turned into the children just living their lives. It did give a nice message about him though: even strangers can be kind. If there was one thing I could have changed, I would have given Boo Radley a bigger role in the story, maybe have him noticed more by the kids.
i think the resolution To Kill a Mockingbird was good. all around it was a good book it really made it seem like it was in the 1930's with the racism. i don't like the way it ended as much i feel like it could have been a little better. and i feel that Boo should have more parts and not just in the end and barley talk. i think i would have made Boo secretly come out and see the kids with out them knowing it would have made him more mysterious. -Michael Curcio
Overall, To Kill A Mockingbird was a very good book, maybe not one of my favorites, but definitely one that I would suggest to other people. At the end, I feel like it all happened a little too fast. It ended very abruptly and kind of left me confused. After finishing the book and thinking a lot about it, the ending made a lot of sense with how close Jem and Scout are to Atticus. It did well on showing their relationship and how all along Atticus raised his kids the right way and loved them more than anything in the world.
To kill a mocking was a good book to read. Parts of the novel were boring but it had good detail. I learned historical events while reading it, it covered issues in the 1930’s that i did not know before. I did not like how Boo Radley played such a minor part in the book. In the beginning it gave you the idea that the book was based around him and that something great would happen but for the most part he was just mentioned. I would have added more exciting parts to the book, something to grab your attention, and i would have given some minor characters bigger or more frequent parts throughout the novel.
I somewhat enjoyed and disliked the ending of the story. I disliked how Jem got attacked and hurt at the end. I also disliked how he never got to meet Boo. But I liked how Scout finally got to see Boo and the Bob Ewell was killed. I think the ending would have been alot better if the children got away from Ewell and never got hurt. Also, I would've liked it if Jem and Dill got to see Boo. That is what I felt about the ending of To Kill A Mockingbird.
I thought the book was really well written overall. The story was mostly true to its time period and the vernacular was true to southern Alabama. The ending of the story I thought was very anti-climactic. The way everything happens is quick and short. I think that maybe for the full effect of the event it should have been made a little bit more dramatic, but not in an over-done hollywood way. I liked that Boo Radley protected the kids. It shows that their attempts to contact him really did matter to him. I also liked that at the very end Boo Radley had become the new mocking bird; that Heck Tate wanted to protect him from the system as much as he could. I really liked that Bob Ewell dies because he "falls on the knife". It was justice for the harrasment. When I finished the book I was satisfied with the ending and thought that not much could be really changed.
I did not like the ending. I didnt like the ending because it never says what happened to dill, if jems arm ever heals, or anything. What i did like about it was that scout finally got to see boo radley. I would have changed the ending a little bit. ~kwhth3
I think the ending should have been more definite. I think Boo Radley should have been introduced more. I enjoyed the novel but I didn't understand how some of the events we significant to the story. I don't think I would change the story. Angelina Bevilacqua
I liked the story over all, but I feel as though it is a very drawn out story with an anti-climactic ending. I feel that the ending was kind of strange. Also, I still don't understand why it is considered a love story. I wouldn't want to change the story because it is the way it is supposed to be. The only thing I don't like is that it's rather uneventful, I feel that I never knew what the true climax of the story was. I feel as though I gained insight and intelligence from reading this novel, and I'm glad I got to read it. It just has a tendency to be slightly confusing.
I liked the book To Kill a Mockingbird very much, therefore, I would not change the story at all. I did not like how Boo Radely was a minor character in the story. In the begining I felt he would play a major role throughout the story but he did not. I like the plot of the story, dealing with racism, and how the story was told by Scout. The ending was good but I did'nt like how it ended off badly.
I throughly enjoyed this book while we were reading it in class. There were some points that I did not like in the book that were slow and drawn out. I felt that the conclusion of the book was very well written and brought the story full circle. It starts with the children afraid of the Boo Radley and ends with him as their hero because he saves them by killing Mr. Ewell. If I could change one thing about the book it would be less of the slow story part and more of the exciting court case.
The resolution of the book was sort of expected. The ending of the book ties up most of the loose ends in the book. Boo Radley finally comes out to help the kids when they really need it, and it explains why Jem had a broken arm in the beginning of the book. Bob Ewell coming after the children had to have happened at some point and time because he had a grudge on everyone involved in Tom Robinsons case. He wanted to get at Atticus if it was the last thing he did, so that is why he went after Atticus's children.
I think that the ending of To Kill A Moching Bird was kind of dissapointing because though they mention boo radly and how different things would be if Scout were in his shoes, they should have based the middle of the story on boo to give more info to his character so we could understand the ending a bit. Tom Sanders
I do not really care for this book. It is not terrible, but just not something I would choose to read on my own time. The ending was dissatisfying because I expected something much more of Boo. Having to give some positive feedback, I would say that I liked Atticus defending Tom Robinson because it shows Atticus does not care what other think of him. What I do not like is how the innocent characters in the novel never really 'won' anything.
The ending to kill a mocking bird was good. They got rid off Mr. Ewell and got to meet Boo Radley. I liked that we got to meet Boo but he was just there. There was no explanation to him at all. Also I didn't like that they just sat down and read without any conclusion. Other from that though the book was good.
To Kill a Mockingbird was great. It brought you back into the innocence of childhood. We never knew what was going on. We never knew how to process feelings or tragic events. All we knew what to do was simply ask "Why?". things had to be explained to us. And Atticus raised his children to figure things out on their own. To have their own perspective on life rather then accepting the "Finch" lifestyle. Thinking they were better than everyone else because they had been there for generations. It really was just written at a look into the lifestyle back then. To open up your mind on racism even. But the ending was very anti-climatic. But I think it was suppose to be that way. A tragic event happens, but life goes on. People grow and handle their emotions in different ways. They gain maturity. Sometimes i wish she had gone into more detail about why grown-ups act they way they do about things though. Or have them explain to Scout and Jem exactly what was going on instead of keeping them in the dark. -Emily Haynes
I really enjoyed the end of TKAM. I wouldn't change a single thing. I think it made a perfect resolution of the story, while still leaving a little to the imagination. I especially liked the part where Scout was talking about herself and what had done over the past year or so without saying her name. I really enjoyed the book. I would definitely read it again. -Bailee
I thought To Kill a Mockingbird was a very good book. I did not like how Tom Robinson died, so I would have changed that part of the book and made it so he got to live. The ending was good because Boo Radley saved the kids. The part I liked was how Atticus tried to save Tom Robinson. -Anthony Rullo

The end of TKAM was bittersweet. Tom had died in the end which was incredilby sad. Then Bob Ewell died which was justice being served. Then we meet Boo who isn't very exciting and there are still many mysteries that shroud him. The very end was incredibly odd because it talks about reading a book called The Gray Ghost and yet from what I heard it sounded like a pirate story or something. Maybe something more like that one movie where the kids go to see the dead body. That's just my interpretation. Although it wasn't a very satisfying ending it is better than anything I probably could have come up with so I'd rather not change it. Besides, it's a classic, why change it?
Overall the book was very well written. However the resolution of the book was unexpected. I did like that Boo Radely came out of the house to protect Scout and Jem. It showed that when they tried to contact him it really did matter to him that someone cared. He saved them from what could have been death. Like I said the ending was unexpected, but it did bring a good resolution to the story. It tied the entire book together and everything that was confusing beforewas made clear att the end of this book.
I think it was a very good book. It had a lot of meaning to it and a lot of different messages. It kept the story alive. It showed that even if a person is close in residence you may not acctually know anything about them. For example boo lived right next door and the kids thought he was evil. It turned ou that he was a nice man, just very shy.
The resolution of To Kill A Mockingbird, was a good book. Not only because it was based on the events of the 1930's during the Great Depression. And how you seen events like Jem and Scouts relationship to Artticus. The book ended on a cliff hanger I thought. I think the ending or the book coul have been out together differently to get a different understanding on the novel.
The resolution of To Kill A Mockingbird, I thought was ok. The whole book I thought was really good though. I like that they brought Boo Radley back in to the book at the end.
